Spam indicator
Non-alphanumeric video titles
What it checks
How many of the channel's video titles contain no Latin letters or digits at all.
The exact rule
- The share of the channel's public videos whose title contains none of: the letters A to Z (any case), the digits 0 to 9, ".", "," or "-". From 0% to 100%.
- A title made only of emoji or symbols counts. So does a title written entirely in another script with no digits, such as Thai, Japanese, Arabic or Khmer.
- An empty title counts.
Why it can point to spam
Titles made of symbols and emoji alone are common on low-effort bulk uploads.
When it fires on a legitimate channel
This is the indicator most likely to fire on an honest channel: any channel that titles its videos in a non-Latin script without numbers can read high. That says nothing about spam.
Can it be changed?
If you run the channel and its titles are simply in your language, there is nothing to fix. We don't suggest adding Latin words or numbers only to lower this indicator.
