Spam indicator
Inactive channel
What it checks
How long ago the channel last published a video.
The exact rule
- It fires (100%) when the newest upload date the checker knows is more than 150 days before the check, counted in calendar days (UTC).
- When no upload date is known, it reads 0%, not N/A.
Why it can point to spam
Spam channels are often dropped once a batch of uploads has run its course. A channel that has sat untouched for months is also the kind that gets sold, renamed and reused.
When it fires on a legitimate channel
Creators take breaks, finish projects, or upload seasonally. Archive channels and channels for a past event stop uploading on purpose. This indicator has one of the smallest weights for that reason.
How to change it
If you run the channel, publishing a new public video resets it. Check the channel again and click Run again so the checker reads the new upload from YouTube.
