Spam indicator
Burst uploads
What it checks
Whether the channel has dumped many unwatched videos on the same day.
The exact rule
- The checker takes the channel's public videos that have fewer than 100 views and groups them by the calendar day (UTC) they were published.
- A day counts when it has more than 10 such videos, so 11 or more.
- The value is the number of videos on those days, as a share of all the channel's public videos, from 0% to 100%.
Why it can point to spam
Channels that publish in bulk for search traffic tend to push out a day's worth of videos at once, and most of them get few views.
When it fires on a legitimate channel
A creator uploading a back catalogue, a batch of Shorts or coverage of an event can post a dozen videos in a day. Only videos under 100 views count, so a batch that gets watched stops counting as its videos pass 100 views.
How to change it
If you run the channel, spread new uploads across days: in YouTube Studio, set a video's Visibility to Schedule and pick the date it goes public. Earlier burst days stop counting as their videos pass 100 views.
